Abstract: Administrative records from the Quaid‑i‑Azam’s Relief Fund (1953‑1959), with copies routinely sent to Miss Fatima Jinnah. Includes a circular seeking approval for Rs. 2,000 contingent expenditure (12 January 1953), a notice and agenda for the 43rd Central Committee meeting (18 April 1953) covering Sind Government reimbursement claims, blanket reappropriations, and an Army Benevolent Fund request. Also includes approved minutes of the 42nd meeting (11 November 1952) which decided to waive claims against Sind and transfer assets to a co‑operative society. Later documents (1959) acknowledge a donation of Rs. 94/5 from Saudi Arabia forwarded through Miss Fatima Jinnah.

Description: A 12 January 1953 circular from Honorary Secretary K.S. Islam requests members’ approval to draw Rs. 2,000 for contingent expenditure (salaries and office expenses), copied to Miss Fatima Jinnah. A 14 April 1953 notice encloses the agenda for the 43rd meeting (18 April) with 13 items: confirmation of minutes, long‑pending Sind Government reimbursement claims (Rs. 50,000 for refugee relief, Rs. 15,677 for razais, Rs. 60,010 for cloth), reappropriation of blanket funds, a request from the Army for Rs. 10 lakhs (turned down), and a claim for feeding Pathan Muslims during the Kashmir effort. The approved minutes of the 42nd meeting (11 November 1952) show that the Committee, after considering the Governor of Sind’s report, decided to waive claims against Sind after an audit by the Auditor‑General, and transferred the assets of the Quaidabad Colony to a co‑operative society. A background note details the dispute over the Sind Premier’s Fund, which was never properly closed despite Quaid‑i‑Azam’s personal intervention. Two 1959 letters acknowledge a donation of Rs. 94/5 from Mr. Ghulam Mohammad in Saudi Arabia, forwarded by Miss Fatima Jinnah’s office. These documents illustrate the fund’s ongoing financial administration and Miss Jinnah’s nominal oversight role. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
