Abstract: A 1951 letter from a writer in Sylhet (East Pakistan) sends a manuscript of his book “Birth of Pakistan — Step by Step” to Miss Fatima Jinnah, requesting an “Appreciation” from her pen. The remainder of the file comprises typed articles from “The Star of India” (1936) defending Jinnah against attacks by Bengal’s Fazlul Huq, extolling the Muslim League’s role in the 1937 elections, and reproducing key Muslim League resolutions (1939, Lahore Resolution 1940, and a 1947 statement on the June 3 plan.

Description: Letter from P.O. Khagaura, Sylhet, to Miss Fatima Jinnah, sending a book manuscript and asking for her written appreciation, noting that Dr. Mahmud Husain has already written a foreword. The remaining pages (18‑25, 36‑38) are typed political articles and resolutions. One article (pages 18‑22) titled “A Pygmy Fighting a Giant” (Star of India, 1936) fiercely rebuts Fazlul Huq’s accusations that Jinnah was “unreliable and untruthful,” praising Jinnah as an all‑India leader. Another (pages 23‑25) titled “The Muslim League – A Red Rag to Reactionary Elements and Coteries” appeals to Muslim voters to support League candidates in the 1937 elections. The file also includes the Muslim League Working Committee’s 1939 resolution condemning Congress rule, the full text of the Lahore Resolution (1940), and a 1947 statement by Pandit Pant accepting the June 3 plan. These documents, likely collected by Miss Fatima Jinnah, reflect the ideological and journalistic battles of the Pakistan movement. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
