Abstract: A set of documents from 1961‑1962, mostly addressed to or mentioning Miss Fatima Jinnah, concerning a community initiative to build a culvert/bridge on a flood‑prone section of the Karachi‑Korangi Road. Includes a copy of the “Evening Star” (26 August 1961) reporting rain damage and traffic disruption; letters from Mr. Mohammad Khaja Khan to the Pakistan Air Force, Chief Engineer, Basic Democracy chairmen, and leading industrialists seeking support; and a progress report forwarded to Miss Jinnah with a request for her kind word to expedite the project. Also includes a 1948 Habib Bank letter acknowledging cheques for the late Quaid‑i‑Azam’s estate.

Description: The “Evening Star” front page (26 August 1961) describes how night‑long rains flooded the Korangi Road, snapping communication between Karachi and Korangi Township, and causing a bus to sink. Following this, a local resident, Mohammad Khaja Khan, organised a campaign for a self‑help culvert. His letters (August‑October 1961) seek permission and support from the PAF, Chief Engineer (Pak. P.W.D.), five B/D Chairmen, and wealthy industrialists (Adamjee, Dawood, Gul Ahmad, etc.). A 21 May 1962 letter to Miss Fatima Jinnah encloses a complete file, progress report, and plan, noting that Air Marshal Asghar Khan had already ordered help from the PAF, and the Director of Social Welfare had supported the cause. He appeals for her “kind word” to accelerate the project. An earlier 1948 Habib Bank letter (8 October 1948) about cheques for the Quaid‑i‑Azam estate is also included, likely as part of Miss Jinnah’s archival files.
