Abstract: A political election poster issued by the Madar‑e‑Millat Election Committee and Lawyers, addressed to members of the Electoral College of District Lyallpur (now Faisalabad). The large text “Appeal!” urges Basic Democrats to vote for Fatima Jinnah, the joint candidate of the Combined Opposition Parties, in the 1964‑1965 presidential election against Field Marshal Ayub Khan. Lyallpur was a key political centre during this historic democratic contest.

Description: The poster is organised in three sections: the top bears the names of the issuing bodies (Madar‑e‑Millat Election Committee and Lawyers); the middle section is addressed to the members of the Electoral College of District Lyallpur; and the bottom features the word “Appeal!” in large type. This document reflects the grassroots campaigning and organisational efforts behind Fatima Jinnah’s 1965 presidential run, in which she stood as the symbol of democratic opposition to Ayub Khan’s military‑backed rule. Lyallpur (now Faisalabad) was a major political centre in West Pakistan during that period. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
