Abstract: Addressed to or concerning Fatima Jinnah. A retired lecturer urges her to withdraw from the presidential race, perform Hajj, and shares a dream of Quaid‑i‑Azam. Two notes (5‑6 January 1965) accuse President Ayub Khan of winning through paid “toto ters” and hold his son Gohar Ayub responsible for post‑election violence in Karachi; they threaten to instruct Ulamas to deny funeral prayers for Ayub. A final note declares the matter closed.
Description: He recounts a dream (1 January 1964) of Quaid‑i‑Azam standing alone and thirsty, and another dream of showing her around New Delhi. A note dated 5 January 1965 (page 60) accuses Ayub Khan of paying “tototers” to win and threatens that if he does not hand over power to the Combined Opposition Parties, Ulamas will be instructed to say no funeral prayers for him. Another note (6 January 1965, condemns the inhumanity in Karachi (houses burnt, people killed), blames “Mr Gohar Ayub” (Ayub’s son), and repeats the funeral prayer threat. A final note says “THE MATTER CLOSED” and instructs handing over to Maulana Maudoodi. These documents reflect the intense political bitterness and religious rhetoric following the 1965 presidential election. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
