Abstract: Letters from the Awami Jamhoori Party, Lahore (9 February and 7 March 1958), inviting Miss Fatima Jinnah to address a two‑day Kisan Conference on agrarian reforms (15‑16 March 1958). The letters describe Pakistan’s acute economic crisis, food shortage, and the need for land reforms including land ceilings and proprietary rights for tenants. A follow‑up letter reschedules her address to the evening of 15 March due to the Mela Shalamar Gardens festival and requests early confirmation.

Description: Letter (9 February 1958) details the party’s work on the Kisan Front since 1955, a peaceful agitation in July 1956 against the Republican Government, and the arrest of many workers. It emphasises that 85% of Pakistan’s population depends on agriculture, with cultivators living a “sub‑human life,” and argues for land ceiling and state lands for the landless. The second letter (7 March 1958) informs Miss Jinnah that due to the local festival “Mela Shalamar Gardens,” her address has been moved from the morning of 16 March to the evening of 15 March, and requests an urgent reply to finalise the programme.
