Description: Letters from M. Mohamed Ismail, President of the Indian Union Muslim League, to Liaqat Ali Khan (Convener of the Pakistan Muslim League), dated 1 April 1948, 21 May 1948, and 3 May 1949. They refer to a resolution passed at the All‑India Muslim League meeting in Karachi (14‑15 December 1947) to form a Joint Ad‑hoc Committee to divide the old League’s assets. Ismail provides the names of the Indian Union’s three representatives and repeatedly urges that the Committee be convened without further delay. A brief letter from Miss Fatima Jinnah (18 August 1949) to “Mr Brohi” sends “Vikalatnama” and papers concerning a suit filed by Mr Yousuf Khatak regarding the Muslim League Fund. The final documents contain the resolutions of the Council of the Indian Union Muslim League, held in Madras on 10 March 1948, including a resolution on Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, constitutional amendments (substituting “Indian Union” for “All India”), and the appointment of a sub‑committee to frame an independent constitution for the Indian Union Muslim League.
