Abstract: Letters from A. Latif to Miss Fatima Jinnah discussing critical political issues in Pakistan. The first letter addresses provincialism, constitutional powers of the Head of State, the One Unit proposal for West Pakistan, and advice on not accepting the official Muslim League Presidency but ensuring effective leadership. The second letter suggests that general elections should not be fought on political party basis to save the Muslim League and allow free choice of representatives.
Description: Letters from A. Latif to Miss Fatima Jinnah dated September 27 and October 2, 1954. The first letter discusses provincialism as the real trouble in Pakistan, the lack of moral basis for constitutional divestment of the Head of State's powers, the rejection of the One Unit proposal for West Pakistan, and advice against accepting the official Muslim League Presidency while ensuring effective leadership. The second letter suggests that general elections should not be fought on political party basis to save the Muslim League, allowing individuals to contest in personal capacity and form Assembly parties after the elections.
