Description: Letter of Saria Mar Kandy [Uganda] to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah informing her about the Uganda Council of Women which is a country wide inter-racial organisation, a subcommittee that has formed to look into the legal and social status of Asian Women in Uganda [Asian mean the Hindus and Muslim women in Uganda]. The Sub-Committee is inter-racial in character but with a majority of Asians. She seeks her (Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah) advice and assistance on the work of the sub-committee has undertaken the present status of their women is that Hindu women have no legal status in the country because the Hindu marriages are not recognised by the Govt. The Muslim women, on the other had have better legal status.
