Description: Letter of Mr. Ashrafuddin Ahmad Chowdhury, Minister of Education, East Bengal, East Bengal Secretarial, Dacca, to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah forwarding her a petition which he had submitted to the Secretary Regional Policy Committee, Dacca, on 2nd September 1955. He said that during an interview she had informed him that she had already granted Rs. 600,000/- (six lakhs) for their educational institutions. He added that the grants already made by her are hardly adequate to meet the pressing demands of their educational institutions. Thus they earnestly request to make an additional grant of a sum Rs.1500,000 (Fifteen lakhs) more.
