Abstract: This collection comprises personal and political correspondence primarily addressed to an individual named Khurshid (likely Khurshid Hasan, a close associate of M.A. Jinnah). The letters, originating from Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir in 1947, express deep personal loyalty to Jinnah and convey the anxieties of Kashmiri Muslims. They appeal for a change in the All India Muslim League's policy towards the princely states, specifically Kashmir, and urge Jinnah to intervene. The collection also includes logistical telegrams, a personal note revealing emotional tensions, and Khurshid's 1941 Intermediate Examination certificate from Punjab University, painting a picture of the networks and individuals surrounding Jinnah.

Description: This is a collection of including personal letters, telegrams, and an academic certificate. The documents provide a glimpse into the personal dynamics within Jinnah's secretariat and the pressing political concerns from Kashmir on the eve of Partition. The often-hectic and emotional nature of the correspondence, including one letter chiding Khurshid for a perceived slight, contrasts with formal telegrams arranging travel. Khurshid's university certificate adds a biographical layer. This collection is a valuable primary source for understanding the personal networks that supported Jinnah and the critical communications regarding Kashmir during the pivotal year of 1947.
