MoU Signing Ceremony with National Archives of Pakistan

Chughtai Public Library organized the MoU Signing Ceremony for the Second Phase of the Digitization of Rare Collections. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Chughtai Public Library and the National Archives of Pakistan.The MoU was formally signed by Dr. A.S Chughtai, Chairman, Chughtai Public Library and Mr. Muhammad Din Chakrani, Director General, National Archives of Pakistan.

Under this phase, the key objectives of collaboration include:

i. Digitization and public access to rare indigenous books and manuscripts available in Pakistan.

ii. Establishment of a mobile digitization unit for the digitization and public access of District Gazettes housed in Deputy Commissioners’ offices across all districts of Pakistan.

iii. Digitization of the complete archival records of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal to ensure their preservation and wider accessibility.
